Ugh, finals. Now looking back you think, “Wait, what did we even learn the first month of the semester? All I can remember about January was binge-watching Friends on Netflix.” We understand, we too couldn’t keep our eyes off of Joey Tribbiani in season 4. Those times are over! Now it’s time to roll up those sleeves and get to work! We have a few tips before you embark on your journey.
1. GET RID OF YOUR DISTRACTIONS
There are countless things that could distract you from studying for finals. Take everything that might distract you; such as your smartphone, remote controller, or pager (if you live in 1991) and follow these simple steps. Step one. Place items on the ground. Step two. Place bowl over the items. Step four. Place three more bowls around the items. Step five. Place desk on top of these bowls. Now study. Every time you want to check your phone you’ll realize the hassle it’ll be and you won’t do it! #Genius
2. GET YOUR PREP ON
You’re just about to crack open that calculus book when suddenly you realized you left your calculator on campus. “Time for a small detour!”, you say to yourself as you leave your desk. You run to your locker and suddenly, on the way back, you bump into your crush from Anatomy 101. Fate might have it that you’re both hungry and decide to get a bite to eat. All the while your window of time to study gets smaller and smaller. You hurry back home with your calculator, but it’s too late. You have to rush to your part-time job at the local grocery store.
This story might sound weirdly too specific, but you get the point. Give yourself a little time to prep for your study sessions. Get every material that you’ll need before you sit down.
